What is Vintage?
A piece of jewelry is considered “vintage” if it is between 50 years to 100 years old, although there is also the opinion that 40 years old can fall in that category as well. I am of the opinion that 40 year old jewelry can qualify as vintage because, let's face it, it's really not that far from 50 and to exclude fantastic pieces from the 70s is a sad thing.
Vintage categories
From Victorian Revival to Mid-Century Modern, vintage jewelry has many different styles and designs. It can sometimes be difficult to discern the difference between periods of jewelry design.
Research & Pricing
There are many opinions, educated guesses and misinformation when it comes to vintage jewelry. One of the things that I enjoy about about anything vintage is the research and learning everything that I can about a particular piece or era. I'm still learning and I love to learn!
